Elements of a Leka Roof

The whole frame is made from GRP. There's no timber or metal used in the build. We engineered our own internal boards which are a third the weight of plasterboard. PIR insulation and foam-filled outer sheets are then installed. The Leka Roof is finished with engineered tiles - your choice of Tapco slate or Metrotile concrete.

Building Regulations

A conversion to a solid conservatory roof always requires building control sign off. For a conversion to be signed off, it needs to comply with building regulations. This is the case for the Leka Roof and every other roof system. However, there is a difference with our system, and that is the Leka Roof is JHAI certified.

Thermal Efficiency

If your conservatory has a glass or polycarbonate roof, it is not as thermally efficient as it could be. You may have noticed your conservatory gets too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter. This is because of inadequate insulation. The Leka Roof’s solid construction is insulated like the roof on your house. It has a U-Value of just 0.15W/m²K

Why choose the Leka Warm Roof Solution?

Fitted in 2/3 Days Energy Efficient Choice of Roof Tiles UK Installation Network JHAI Approved Cost Effective Lightweight 40-Year Guarantee Patent Pending

The Leka Warm Roof is a solid conservatory roof, typically weighing within 10-12% of a traditional glass conservatory roof. This lightweight design means it can be installed on most existing conservatories without the need for additional support structures. It is made from glass-reinforced plastic (GRP) and uses only the best materials in its build. All installations are carried out through our Approved UK Installation Network.

More cost effective than a new conservatory

A new UPVC conservatory build will set you back more than £12,000. The Leka Roof can cost around half that. If there is nothing structurally wrong with your existing conservatory, but it suffers from mould, condensation or poor temperature regulation, bringing it down is a very expensive way to go about fixing it. Why not just upgrade the roof instead? The Leka Roof replaces your glazed or polycarbonate roof with a solid tiled roof which imitates the roof on your house. It’s a refurbishment project that works.

"The new roof has completely changed how we use our conservatory."

Roof styles

There are usually no design restrictions with the Leka Roof. Each system is unique to each conservatory. Common roof styles include Victorian, Edwardian, lean-to, gable-ended and combination. You can change the style of your conservatory roof from one to another (for example, from Victorian to Edwardian) or stick with the existing style. It’s up to you. The engineered tiles available perfectly mimic real slate and concrete and are available in a wide range of colours to match the tiles on your house.

Thermal efficiency

The Leka Roof is a solid conservatory roof with proper insulation. It keeps your conservatory cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. It eliminates roof-born condensation and draughts and rapid heat loss. It has an overall U-Value of just 0.15W/m²K which is probably better than the roof on your house. It is the perfect replacement for glazed and polycarbonate roofs which do not regulate temperature well. It also significantly cuts glare, making your conservatory more usable more of the time.

Elements of a Leka Roof

The structural ring beam, rafters and ridge are made from GRP. GRP cannot rot. It is impenetrable, strong and lightweight. We use our own internal roof sheets which are a third of the weight of plasterboard and waterproof. Thermally efficient PIR insulation sheets fill the gap between internal board and outer sheet. The outer sheets are an engineered plastic with xps foam - a structural alternative to plywood. The roof is finished with either Metrotile or Tapco slate tiles, an engineered, lighter alternative to the real thing.

Do I need building regulations?

Yes you do, as with all solid roof installations. Pleasing to know the Leka Roof holds JHAI Certification which means it has already been signed off by a licensed building inspector. JHAI Certification was achieved following a lengthy in-depth assessment of not only our system, but our policies and training packages. The Leka Roof can be fast-tracked through building control applications in most cases. All installations get a building control certificate via JHAI. Your chosen installer will deal with this on your behalf.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to install?

How much does it cost?

Great question! We can’t quote you without seeing your conservatory, but most builds are valued between £6,000 and £12,000, or roughly half the cost of a new conservatory. For a free quote, send us an enquiry through our website, leaving your contact details, or request a callback.

What testing has the Leka Roof undergone?

The Leka Roof has been fully tested and assessed by JHAI, the Approved Inspector for Building Control licensed by the Government, who determined the Leka Roof to be fully compliant with building regulations. All installations get a Building Control certificate.
